Donald Burney Source of Living Waters?
Where are living waters really found? With Donald Burney and his YORWW Congregation? Of course when Jesus Christ offered the Samaritan woman living waters he made it clear that it was spiritual waters he spoke about. John 4:14 Whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty at all, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water bubbling up to impart everlasting life."
So really will we find such living waters with Donald Burney, founder of YORWW Congregation? Has he really replaced Jesus Christ as Jehovah's chief agent of life (Acts 3:15), and has he really replaced the Lord as the giver of living water? How is such a thing possible? Let's investigate and see if he really has "Living Waters" or some other kind of water.
Looking into the scriptures we see it was fortold that a time would arrive when another kind of water would be abundant in the earth: Rev 8:10 And the third angel blew his trumpet. And a great star burning as a lamp fell from heaven, and it fell upon a third of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters. 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third of the waters turned into wormwood, and many of the men died from the waters, because these had been made bitter.
In the Bible water has always been regarded as a refreshment and associated with spiritual truths and sources of life. Isa 12: 3 With exultation YOU people will be certain to draw water out of the springs of salvation. So we see that a loss of spiritual water would be disasterous for Jehovah's people, yet the scriptures foretold such a situation. Amos 8:11 "‘Look! There are days coming,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘and I will send a famine into the land, a famine, not for bread, and a thirst, not for water, but for hearing the words of Jehovah.
Apostasy, by nature is like wormwood. Poisoned waters. There are many examples in the Bible of poisoned water causing miscarriages, sickness and death. Apostasy therefore has biblically always been linked to wormwood in a phrophetic way. It looks like water, perhaps even tastes like water, but it is poison and will kill the one who drinks it. So too apostate teachings; They may look like truth. They may sound like truth. But if the teachings you are listening to are not truth, and you take them into your heart, you could die spiritually. So the point is to measure what we are hearing by the Bible, and pray to Jehovah for his spirit to help us percieve what the scriptures say about any kind of teaching someone tries to bring to us.
We will look here at some of the teachings of YORWW and see if they measure up to the scriptures. In our next postings we will try to list some of those teachings for critical examination in light of the Bible.
